Commercial Landscape & Hardscape Projects - Atlanta GA
Atlanta Botanical Gardens
A & C Development has completed numerous specialty exhibits including the Train Garden, Sculpture Gardens, and North courtyard. All of these projects involved converting existing exhibit spaces while the garden was open to the public. These are great examples of our ability to manage projects… to coordinate the use of heavy equipment while ensuring a safe working environment, and meeting difficult delivery schedules.
A&C performed the installation of an outdoor dining area including seat walls, paver patios, and landscaping. The area was a great success being heavily utilized by company employees and corporate guests at the Atlanta Headquarters.
The Equitable Columns were originally carved for the original Equitable building in 1892 and then moved to the current equitable building in 1995. Due to renovations of the Equitable Plaza the columns were donated to the Atlanta History center to avoid demolition. The columns weighed 25,000 lbs. each and required specially fabricated steel cages to move them in one piece. Multiple large cranes were used to remove and set the columns at the History Center. A&C was instrumental in the coordination and implementation of this difficult relocation process.
Wood Family Cabin
The Wood Family Cabin was donated to the Atlanta History by descendants of the Homesteaders who built the cabin on Hollywood Road in Atlanta in the 1830s, then moved to Scaly Mt, NC sometime in the 20th century. The cabin will be disassembled in NC and reassembled at the Atlanta History Center. A &C Development is currently under contract as the GC for this project. The overall Process will consist of tree removal, grading, re-construction of the cabin, new restroom building, additional hardscape, landscape, and irrigation.
Georgia Power Headquarters
A&C performed the hardscape construction through ValleyCrest for a memorial garden for fallen employees. Working carefully within a tight work environment, a small plaza was transformed with custom engraved bricks and additional cobble pavers, creating a more user friendly environment which honors all past and benefits all present Southern Company employees.
Veterans Park was constructed at the Atlanta History Center to commemorate all American Veterans. A&C Development was the General Contractor for the park and oversaw all stages of construction from permitting through completion, which included water features, monuments, and site furnishings. A&C was instrumental in meeting a critical deadline, with an accelerated schedule and successful completion for a major Memorial Day event.
